Toronto Raptors at Washington Wizards

Another night, another game the Raptors should win on paper. If the season was played on paper, Toronto would probably be near the top of the league. Sadly the games have to be played on the court. Since as long as I can remember, no matter how good or bad the Raptors are, they have never had much success in D.C. This is obvious when every time they play in Washington, we get to see Mo Pete’s crazy shot to tie the game a few seasons ago. Toronto had a good thing going after the weekend and pissed it all away with a poor effort against the Bucks. Sure they were tired but the game was theirs to take and some poor personnel choices in the fourth did them in. Oh and the fact that Luke Ridnour went all Larry Bird for a few minutes. This game will come down to how well the Raps stop the three ball and if history tells us anything, the Wiz will be bombing away with ease.

Here is everything you need to know for tonight’s game.

The Goods

  • Both Calderon and JO will likely sit out again when the Raptors try to salvage a split of their brief two-game road trip.
  • Bargnani is averaging 21.0 points since entering the starting lineup.
  • Washington has been a tough matchup for the Raptors, taking three of the last four meetings in last season’s series and eight of the last nine contests between the teams at the Verizon Center.
  • Antawn Jamison has scored 24 points or more in four of his last six games against the Raptors, and has double-doubles in four of the teams’ last five meetings.

For Bettors

  • Over is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings in Washington.
  • Over is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings.
  • Home team is 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings.
  • Favorite is 9-3-1 ATS in the last 13 meetings.
  • Raptors are 1-7-1 ATS in the last 9 meetings in Washington.

Prediction

Even though the Wizards have won only seven games, this is a hard one to call. Washington has played tough against Cleveland and Boston and own the Raptors at home. As bad as they are, they have athletes and we all know that Toronto has trouble against athletes. But I am going to just bite the bullet and call a Raptors win. Wow that was hard. Raps win (hopefully) 99-89.
