Toronto Raptors at New Jersey Nets

Are things starting to turn for the better in Raptorland? Jose is back, AP is stepping into his new role well and JO even looks like he is close to being traded 100% healthy. With morale building what better way to test how things really are than with a game against the Raps biggest enemy in the league. Vince Carter’s last second dunk earlier in the year was kind of like the start of everything going in the crapper so it is time for payback. The Nets are one of the many teams the Raps are chasing and the time is now to start piling up wins. The two keys are to not let VC get going early and to try to keep Devin Harris from busting everyone’s ankles. It can’t hurt to keep Jamario Moon off the floor in the fourth quarter. Those are my three keys to success.

Here is everything you need to know about tonight’s game.

The Goods

  • Calderon had a team-high 23 points and 10 assists in the 114-94 victory over the Bulls, and 16 points and eight assists as the Raptors routed the Kings 113-97.
  • Andrea Bargnani, averaging 13.5 points and 5.0 rebounds on the season, is averaging 21.4 points and 6.8 boards in the last eight games.
  • New Jersey has lost six of seven overall and two straight at the Izod Center, where it’s 9-14 in 2008-09.
  • The Nets are coming off Monday’s 94-85 loss to Oklahoma City.
  • The Nets have won two of three against the Raptors this season, with both victories coming in Toronto. New Jersey, though, was pounded 101-79 at home Dec. 12, shooting 31.3 percent from the field.

For Bettors

  • The under is 15-3 in the last 18 meetings in New Jersey.
  • The under is 27-10 in the last 37 meetings.
  • The underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.

Prediction

Yes I am drinking the koolaid. Raptors will win this one and Vince will have that cringe face going. Raps win 98-90.
