Talk about a layup for the creators of Pineapple Express. They were in talks to find some new blood for the sequel to the big hit Pineapple Express and then Michael Phelps showed the world his love of the bong.

To make up for endorsements that Phelps will most likely lose, he figures that movies is the way to go. Smoking weed could turn out to be the best thing for the Olympic golden boy and Hollywood will embrace him like they have with every other substance abusing celeb.

So keep an eye out for this one in August 2009.
