Now we have never been a fan of Star Trek so we don’t understand the power it can convey but this story seems a little crazy.

Colorado police say a man with too much “Star Trek” on his mind used a sword modelled after the weapon carried by Klingon warriors to demand money from two convenience stores.

Investigators say the man took an unknown amount of cash from a 7-Eleven store Wednesday but left empty-handed when he tried to rob another store about 25 minutes later.

The StarTrek.com website says the double-pointed sword used by the Klingons on “Star Trek” is crescent-shaped and about a metre long.

No one has been charged in the incident but we are going to assume the security tapes of this will be on Youtube by the time we post this.

What is next? 40-something dudes robbing the local coffee shop with light sabers? Oh wait, sorry Trekkies, that is Star Wars, our bad.
