Toronto Raptors at Minnesota Timberwolves

Let me start by saying I am sorry for being so negative about the Raptors lately but can you blame me? Even the most diehard fan must be ready to pack away the bobble-heads and call it a day. So what if Al Jefferson is out. The Raps clearly don’t take advantage of teams that are without their best players. Normally I would think the Raps would beat the T-Wolves but they have actually been playing better ball over the last month (compared to the Raps) and Toronto is easy pickings these days. I will watch the game and put myself through torture so hopefully a miracle happens and Toronto can win this one. They certainly won’t be beating the Spurs on Wednesday. Hey at least the Raptors are a good bet in this one if you follow trends.

Here is everything you need to know for tonight’s game.

The Goods

  • The Raptors, losers of six straight, will likely be without Chris Bosh as they try to extend an eight-game winning streak over a lowly Timberwolves.
  • Forward Brian Cardinal may move into the starting lineup in place of Jefferson. Backup center Jason Collins hasn’t played a minute since McHale took over as coach.
  • Joey Graham has started in place of Bosh, scoring a total of 17 points in two games.
  • Toronto continues to slide in the Eastern Conference, losing 13 of 16. Minnesota, meanwhile, is one of the league’s worst teams and has had no success against the Raptors in recent years, losing eight straight in the series.
  • Toronto has scored 85 points or fewer in three games during its current six-game skid, and turned in its worst offensive performance of the season in its last outing.
  • The Timberwolves have lost three straight at home after winning six of their previous seven and have dropped six of seven overall.

For Bettors

  • The Raptors are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Minnesota.
  • The Raptors are 8-0 ATS in the last 8 meetings.
  • The favorite is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings.
  • The under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Minnesota.
  • The under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings.

Prediction

Tell me if you have heard this one? The Raps play a decent game and are winning in the fourth. Then one of the opposing team’s players goes off and beats Toronto all by himself. Yep it will happen again and this time it will be Randy Foye. T-Wolves win 92-85. Boo.
