Every now and then we like to remind all of our readers down south that we Canadians are a little off the wall.
A Quebec entrepreneur has obtained a licence from the CRTC (our FCC) to launch an obituaries channel in the province.
Okay so technically Quebec is not Canada (just kidding) but you have to admit this idea is crazy for even the Francais.
Are the Habs that bad that you have to turn off the game and watch someone read the obits?
Ah sorry, Gerald Dominique hopes to start his channel this summer so he clearly is waiting for hockey to end. No Expos to fill the gap so maybe the idea will work.
The French-language channel will charge a fee to broadcast obituaries, prayers, hospitalization notices and messages of thanks.
Now you see why newspapers are dying pardon the pun.
Dominique hopes to be able to tell interesting stories about people that aren’t otherwise told.and also wants the channel to expand into the rest of the country.
Yeah, good luck with that.
Stay tuned for video clips this summer.
