We were searching around the forums today and found this gem of an article that showcases what U.S. states have produced the most All-Stars from the major sports. Before reading the list we certainly had our guesses but we were way off on some.
Here is a quick look at the Top 10 as well as what NBA All-Stars come from each state. To see the rest, you will have to read the full article.
10. South Carolina - Notables are Jermaine O’Neal, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen.
9. Virginia - Notables are Allen Iverson and Grant Hill
8. North Carolina - Notables are Michael Jordan, Chris Paul, Jerry Stackhouse, Josh Howard and Antawn Jamison.
7. Illinois - Notables are Dwayne Wade, Michael Finley and Shawn Marion.
6. Georgia - Georgia isn’t known for its NBA stars but it is still the place that brought us Dwight Howard.
5. Ohio - Notables are LeBron James and Michael Redd.
4. Pennsylvania -Notables are Kobe Bryant, Rip Hamilton, Jameer Nelson and Rasheed Wallace.
3. Texas -Notables are Chris Bosh and Rashard Lewi.
2. Florida - Although Florida isn’t known for its basketball, its five NBA all-stars ranks second among all states. Notables are Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Amare Stoudemire and Eddie Jones.
1. California - California has more NBA All-Stars than any other state. Notables are Gilbert Arenas, Reggie Miller and Baron Davis.
Surprised by these? We figured New York City would be in there.
