Okay, before I get hate comments, I get that things could change next season (if there is one) but right now, the big deal between the New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets is looking about as successful as trying to drive with your eyes closed.

Both teams would of made the playoffs pre-deal and both at the very least would of been swept in the opening round. If Denver loses the next game, they will join the Knicks in being broomed.

So what did the deal really do? Short term, not a hell of a lot other than hype for New York and a breath of fresh air in Denver.

Sure you could say they both ran into the wrong team in the opening round but based on all the chatter for the last few weeks of the season, these teams were going to make noise.

Well so far the only noise New York made was Amare’s creeky back. The Knicks are done and now everyone can start to speculate who they will get to join Melo and Amare next year. Chris Paul? Well he seems to be doing just fine right now on his current team. Why would he want to go to New York?

Denver will be okay I think as a team that will always be middle of the road. They have a true team and have a lot more freedom to shape the squad in the coming seasons. First thing they need to do is get rid of J.R. Smith. The guy is an absolute meathead. Great skills, no brain. He gave up after two games.

In a perfect world, a big deal works for both sides. Initially, I thought Denver made out like bandits by getting rid of the black hole known as Carlmelo Anthony. But it is all based on postseason wins, so unless the Nuggets pull a fast one and get on a roll, it looks like both teams will end the year with a bust.

At least the Knicks can dream about what could be next season but really, do any of us see them as title contenders?

Oh well at least we have Miami and Boston to look forward to.

Nuggets are favoured by 3.5-points tonight but those crazy Thunder are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games.
