Cuzoogle is and alway will be a Toronto Raptors blog but with the upcoming NBA season looking like a no go, we need to have a back up plan.

Well seeing as we are based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, it only seems natural that we focus on the newly formed NBL or National Basketball League of Canada. No, this is not a joke for my American friends, it is happening.

Starting in December, the league of 7 teams will tip off and will be showing a lot of hoops to a lot of people normally don’t get to see this quality of skills in their town.

The Toronto Raptors are of course Canada’s team but depending on how the new NBL goes, they will soon have some competition.

With many months to go before action starts, it is now time to start educating everyone and to start, we will let you know what teams there are.

Halifax Rainmen

The Halifax Rainmen are a professional basketball team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The Rainmen were part of the Atlantic Division of the Premier Basketball League (PBL), and before that played out of the American Basketball Association (ABA). The team plays its home games at the 11,093-seat Halifax Metro Centre.

Quebec Kebs

The Quebec Kebs are a professional basketball team of the National Basketball League. Troughout its history, the team has lined up proud Quebec francophone players in order to assure the changing of the guard in local Quebec basketball. The only professional basketball team in Quebec, the Kebs are playing their sixth season.

Saint John Mill Rats

The Saint John Mill Rats are currently entering their fifth year of professional basketball – our second in Saint John, New Brunswick. Our home games are played at Harbour Station, a premier 6,600 seat facility in Saint John.

Moncton, NB

The Moncton NBL Canada franchise is an expansion team that will be playing at the Moncton Coliseum in Moncton, New Brunswick.

There you have it, the first 7 teams that will be playing in this new league.

This is for real people, so go out and support it so it grows and further puts Canada on the map for basketball.
