This shows you how closely I have been following all the NBA news this summer. Based on skimming headlines and such, I thought there was an exhibtion game for Drew Gooden, maybe to make him money for being such a bad player??
But no, there are two teams called the Goodman league and the Drew league. Go figure. Anyways….
Kevin Durant scored 44 points to lead Washington’s Goodman League to a thrilling 135-134 victory over the Drew League from Los Angeles on Saturday night.
On a Toronto Raptors note, DeMar DeRozan was on the L.A. team along with NBA veteran and former Toronto bench warmer Marcus Banks.
My favorite bit from the AP article on this was:
Harden’s game face was showing behind his full beard before the game, intensity that was not surprising considering the Los Angeles players paid their way to travel East.
Really, they were intense because they had to pay their own flight? WOW. I think we just figured out how to make the league more intense when it resumes. Make everyone sit in coach with the rest of us and pay for their own tickets. It will be a bloodbath.
Anyways, sounds liket his game was some good ball for the 1,500 that got to see it.
As for Drew Gooden, he still sucks and would appreciate a pick up game in his honor.
