Derrick Rose is doing his best to keep the NBA topics flowing on sports radio and blogs everywhere by guaranteeing the Bulls will win multiple titles. Guess, what, since the Jordan era, the Bulls have won nothing. Why brag about all the titles you will win then?
In an interview with HoopsHype.com, Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose, usually a humble mumbler, guaranteed that he will eventually own more than one ring.
“I won’t be satisfied until I win a championship. I’m not satisfied at all. There’s not a doubt in my mind that I’m not going to win a championship. I’m going win multiple championships. It’s not a doubt in my mind.”
Okay so maybe bragging is not the right word. He is just being confident right? That is what we want to hear from our superstars.
It just seems odd to be looking ahead to many championships when you don’t have one in the can already. Crazy things happen in the NBA. Injuries, blockbuster trades and as LeBron James found out, things alway don’t go as planned.
The Bulls are a good team, but they need more to get over the hump. Carlos Boozer is not getting any better and teams are going to look at the playoffs from last year and use the blue print for slowing down Rose.
If other Bulls step up and get the job done, it will be a whole different story.
But for now, they should worry about just getting to the NBA Finals first and not about how many titles they will win over the next 5-10 years.
