For those still wrapped up in the NBA lockout and whether there will be a season or not, it is time to get with the present. The National Basketball League of Canada is where it’s at now and the first season is getting ready to roll.

A good sign for one of the teams - The Montcon Miracles - took place the other day.

There were people buying tickets!

Within a few minutes after a Tuesday afternoon news conference, people went straight from the conference to the box office.

Interested and potential fans have already been buying both individual game and season tickets. The phones have been steady according to the ticket offices and that means the hype is working.

Miracles owner Steven Conville said the team sold 20 season tickets on Tuesday afternoon following the news conference.

Moncton will open the 36-game regular season on the road against Quebec on Oct. 29. The Miracles will play their first five outings in enemy territory before their home opener versus Saint John on Nov. 20 at the Moncton Coliseum.

Moncton ticket prices for stadium seating on the court are $18 adult, $16 student/senior and $14 youth. These seats for a season ticket (18 home games) are $324 adult, $288 student/senior and $252 youth.

The lower bowl from rows 1-9 are $16 adult, $14 student/senior and $12 youth. That translates into season ticket prices of $288 adult, $252 student/senior and $216 youth.

The lower bowl from rows 10-15 are $14 adult, $12 student/senior and $10 youth. That works out to season ticket costs of $252 adult, $216 student/senior and $180 youth.

Not bad prices for what will be the most exciting basketball the city has ever seen.

Seeing as Moncton and Halifax already have a heated rivalry over everything already, the Miracles and Rainmen will be enemies in no time.

Personally I hope the Rainmen kick there ass. No Miracles happening this season.
