Okay, so it is not Kobe Bryant but it is a name that NBA fans at least know.
The Oshawa Power of the National Basketball League have signed Canadian national team member Denham Brown.
The six-foot-five shooting guard (who is from Toronto) played at the recent FIBA Americas Championship in Argentina, averaging 6.6 points per game as Canada failed to advance at the Olympic qualifying event.
This signing was announced this past week and due to a busy week of work and toddler chasing, I am just posting it now.
Brown is also known to hoopsters because he played at the University of Connecticut and won an NCAA Championship as a sophomore.
Wondering where Brown has been lately?
He spent last season in the Ukraine Super League with BC Dnipro, averaging 13.4 points per game to go along with 5.8 rebounds and three assists.
Even though he was not a start by any means, he is a Canadian and someone that playing in the league. True basketball fans will know the name and it will certainly help Oshawa get a few more fans out to the game.
