There is so little news going on with the Toronto Raptors, it feels like Christmas when anything comes up on the wire.

This little gem has started to service.
Andrea Bargnani is using the online dating site AshleyMadison.com?? Okay, not exactly true.
Just more possible European vacation news for NBA players.
In following a model first tested by Be?ikta? in the signing of Deron Williams, Virtus Roma is pursuing Andrea Bargnani with at least two offers. One is a three-month deal and the other is a full-season contract pending resurrection of the 2011-12 NBA season.
There is also a proposal for a new sponsor to help defray the locked out Toronto Raptor’s insurance costs.
Any guesses who? I gave you a hint earlier.
Yep, AshleyMadison.com, a website with the slogan “Life is short. Have affairs” and known as “The world’s leading married dating service for discreet encounters.”
So many stories, so many jokes. I am just mad I am still too tired to think of any.
From Italy-based La Stampa (my kid did the translating):
Such a sponsorship deal was first proposed two weeks ago, with management holding back on moving forward due to “ethical problems” – problems which apparently have dissipated a bit with the prospect of the NBA lockout dragging on.
Ashley Madison founder Noel Biderman was quoted in La Stampa as confirming a deal in the making: “I met with Virtus Roma [officials] and we are in talks for a major sponsorship and Andrea Bargnani’s return to Italy. This is very important for an investment of around €1.5 million.” This figure is worth approximately US $2.05 million.
So what do think? Pretty odd story eh? I guess the bottom line is, it looks like Bargnani will be playing in Europe.
Or did most of you forget what the post was about and have already headed over to AshleyMadison.com?
