Finally, the season is here. That also means the many power rankings that are put out by various sites and writers. One set of rankings that we pay most attention to is the ones on NBA.com.

Yesterday they posted their latest rankings and have the Toronto Raptors at No. 18. Not that bad if you ask me considering they were so bad last season.

Here is also an interesting tidbit from the NBA.com Power Rankings to get Raptors fans excited.

Over the last 10 full seasons (2001-02 through ‘10-11), 21 teams lost fewer than two preseason games, and 19 of the 21 made the playoffs that year. The lone exceptions were the ‘03-04 Jazz (who finished ninth at 42-40) and the ‘10-11 Jazz (who lost Jerry Sloan and Deron Williams mid-season). Hmmmm…

Good enough for us. We are not the Utah Jazz, so history says the Raps are playoff bound. Done deal.

The Raptors start out at home tomorrow night against the Indiana Pacers. Finally, some real hoops to watch.
